ActionPC KeyNotes
Kick / ShootHold Left ClickHold longer for more power. Release timing beats duration — a short charge from a good angle beats a full charge from a bad one.
PassRight ClickPasses to the nearest teammate. Aim first for directional passes. Quick passing keeps possession under pressure.
Dribble (with ball)QTriggers your style's dribble ability (e.g. Monster's Elastic Sting, Speedster's dash).
Dive (without ball)QSame key as dribble — context-sensitive. Dive toward loose balls to win possession races.
Slide TackleESteal the ball. Target the ball, not the player, from the side or behind — mistimed slides foul and leave you grounded.
Rainbow Flick (with ball)SpaceFlips the ball over your head to beat a 1v1 defender. Mix with dribbling so it stays unpredictable.
Header (without ball)SpaceContext-sensitive with Rainbow Flick. Redirects aerial balls — use for crosses and lobs.
Volley (airborne)Hold Left ClickShoot before the ball lands. Demon + Volley flow makes it consistent.
Bicycle KickSpace → Hold Left ClickJump with the ball behind you, then hold shoot airborne. Narrow timing window — practice in casual first.

Advanced moves

Techniques that separate good players from great ones. Each requires match practice to execute reliably.

Aerial shot

How to volley in Soccer Zero

A volley is a midair shot before the ball hits the ground — harder to defend than a ground shot.

  • Wait for the ball to be airborne (cross, lob, or clearance)
  • Position yourself in the ball's flight path
  • Hold Left Click as the ball reaches your hitbox
  • Release for a powerful shot on goal

Demon style and Volley flow make volleys more consistent. Glam's Glamorous Leap can intercept enemy lobs and convert them into your own volley opportunity.

Advanced aerial

How to do a bicycle kick

The bicycle kick is the hardest move to land but creates goals defenders can't anticipate.

  • Get the ball behind or above you while facing goal
  • Press Space to jump and generate airtime
  • Hold Left Click while airborne with the ball behind you
  • The timing window is narrow — practice in casual matches first

Demon style's Rush ability chains into bicycle kicks. The sequence is difficult to defend because it removes the ball from standard tackle range.

Dribbling

How to dribble in Soccer Zero

Dribbling uses the Stud Gap system — the distance between your hitbox and the ball determines control tightness.

  • Press Q with the ball to activate your style's dribble move
  • Higher Dribble stats = tighter Stud Gap = better control
  • Monster's Elastic Sting teleports ~20 meters — best escape tool available
  • Sprinting while dribbling drains stamina faster — manage your bar

Monster and Speedster have the best dribble kits. Bee flow supports carry dribbling builds.

Combo

Air tackle → header → volley

An advanced sequence that bypasses ground-level defenders entirely.

  • Step 1: Win the aerial contest (dive or tackle near an aerial ball)
  • Step 2: Press Space immediately to header — keep the ball elevated
  • Step 3: Hold Left Click while the ball is still airborne to volley finish

Demon style players can trigger Rush during the volley for extra power. This combo forces defenders out of their standard tackle positioning.

Shooting tips

Power shots

Charge for distance

Hold Left Click longer for a more powerful long-range shot. From inside the box a short hold is usually enough. From outside, charge fully and aim low or into corners.

Positioning

Shoot from open lanes

Don't shoot straight into a defender. Reposition for an angle first. A shot from a tight angle with a clear lane beats a central shot that gets blocked.

Aerial advantage

Volleys bypass defenses

Ground defenders can't tackle airborne balls. When you receive a cross or lob, taking a volley instead of controlling to ground gives you a window defenders can't easily react to.

Practice drill checklist

Tick these off in casual matches before you take a build into ranked. Your progress is saved on this device.

FAQ

How do I shoot in Soccer Zero?

Hold Left Click to charge a shot, then release to fire. The longer you hold, the more power. Timing the release matters more than the hold duration — a well-timed short-charge shot from a good angle beats a full charge from a poor position. Aim away from defenders before releasing.

How do I volley in Soccer Zero?

Wait for the ball to be airborne, position yourself in its flight path, then hold Left Click as it reaches your hitbox. Demon style and Volley flow improve airborne shooting. Volleys are stronger than ground shots and harder for defenders to intercept.

How do I do a bicycle kick?

Get the ball behind or above you, press Space to jump, then hold Left Click while airborne. The timing window is narrow — practice in casual matches before trying in ranked. Demon style's Rush ability can chain into bicycle kick finishes effectively.

How do I dribble past defenders?

Press Q with the ball to activate your style's dribble move. Monster's Elastic Sting gives a ~20m teleport escape. Manage your stamina bar since sprinting while dribbling drains it faster. Higher Dribble stats create a tighter Stud Gap for better control under pressure.

What does rainbow flick do?

Rainbow Flick (Space with ball) flips the ball over your head to wrong-foot defenders. It's useful for beating a single defender one-on-one but requires timing to execute. Defenders can anticipate the move if you use it too predictably, so mix it with dribbling and passing.

When should I use slide tackle?

Use E to slide tackle when you have a clear angle from behind or the side — target the ball, not the player. Don't use it as a last defender unless you're confident you'll win the ball. A mistimed slide tackle leaves you on the ground temporarily and can result in a foul.
